Cyclodextrin modified silica phases for HPLC enantiomer separation. These phases are especially suited for the control of optical purity and for the analysis of positional and cis-trans isomers.

NUCLEODEX β-OH is a β-cyclodextrin bonded to porous silica particles. Its separation based on hydrogen bonds and dipole interactions between functional groups of the analyte and hydroxyl groups of the cyclodextrin. Examples for successful enantiomer separations: chlorthalidone and other compounds, which require free hydroxyl groups for enantioselective interactions. Eluent in column CH₃OH - 0,1% TEAA, pH 4.

NUCLEODEX α-PM is a permethylated α-cyclodextrin phase. For all permethylated phases the ability to form hydrogen bonds is reduced, and the hydrophobicity of the phase is increased compared to β‑OH that results in shorter retention times. Examples for successful enantiomer separations: mecoprop and dichlorprop as free carboxylic acids, trans-stilbene oxide and styrene oxide. Eluent in column CH₃OH - 50 mM phosphate, pH 3.

NUCLEODEX β-PM is a permethylated β-cyclodextrin phase ideal for successful enantiomer separations such as mephobarbital (prominal), pesticide derivatives mecoprop-methyl and fenoxaprop-ethyl. Eluent in column CH3OH - 0,1% TEAA, pH 4.

NUCLEODEX γ-PM is a permethylated γ-cyclodextrin phase ideal for successful enantiomer separations such as steroids or other larger molecules. Eluent in column CH₃OH - 0,1% TEAA, pH 4.

EC guard columns are used for analytical EC columns with the Column Protection System guard column holder (554-5851).
