Aspergillus niger Catalase
Enzymes

Catalase, fungal suspension from from Aspergillus niger is long-acting, extremely stable form of catalase that is active over a wide pH range. Composed of four protein subunits, each containing a heme group bound to its active site.

  • Fungal suspension
  • Caution: freezing of solutions is not recommended

Catalase is used for the removal of peroxides, the generation of oxygen and, in coupled systems, for the determination of metabolites e.g. uric acid. A very stable preparation particularly suitable for immobilisation.

One unit decomposes 1,0 µmole of hydrogen peroxide per minute at pH 7,0, 25 °C.
