New instrumental colour measurement according to European Pharmacopoeia 10.3 chapter 2.2.2
The colour of a liquid conveys a number of important details about the liquid itself. For manufacturers, colour is an indicator of raw material or product quality. For consumers, colour indicates product consistency and brand identification. With all of the critical information that colour provides, it is essential that it is measured accurately.
European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) colour method 2.2.2 has recently been implemented for the instrumental measurement of the degree of colouration of liquids. Prior to this update, colour had been performed by visual colour matching. The newly adopted instrumental method eliminates the errors inherent in visual methods due to differences in human perception, while providing a quantitative colour value.
In this webinar, Hach colour analysis expert Juergen Moeller-Kemsa will review changes to the new Ph. Eur. method and describe how this method can be implemented in your lab.
